Quad bike rental in Vilanculos is a simple, self-guided way to explore the area on your own time. Rent a quad for an hour (or longer — just ask) and head out on the back roads behind town and the coastal tracks.

Quads are easy to ride — automatic, two-wheel-drive on the rear, twist-grip throttle. If you've never been on one we'll walk you through everything before you set off. Two people fit comfortably on one bike. Helmets are included; petrol is on us for the first hour.

Before you book.

Do I need a driver's licence to rent a quad?
We'll confirm the exact ID and licence requirements when you message us. At a minimum, bring photo ID. The minimum age to drive a quad is 14 years.
Can two people ride on one quad?
Yes — up to two riders per quad. Both wear helmets. The driver must be at least 14, and the passenger should be old enough to hold on properly and follow the driver's lead.
I've never ridden a quad before. Is it hard?
Not at all. Quads are automatic — twist the throttle to go, brake to stop. Before you set off we run a briefing on the controls, the basics of riding on sand, and the route. Most first-timers are confident inside ten minutes.
Where can I ride? Are there areas off-limits?
The back roads behind town and the coastal tracks around Vilanculos. We'll give you a route map when we drop the quad off. Not allowed: the beach itself, the main tarmac roads through town (insurance), private property, and the dunes (protected — and the red dunes are climbed on foot, not ridden). The crew will mark these on your map.
What if the quad breaks down?
Call us. We'll come to you. If it's a mechanical fault on our end (not damage from a crash), we'll either fix it on the spot or swap it for another bike — and you get the lost time back.
Is there a security deposit?
Yes — we'll confirm the amount when you book based on duration. It covers damage, loss, and clean-up beyond normal use. Returned in full when the quad comes back in the same shape it left.
Can I rent for longer than an hour?
Yes — half-day and full-day are both available, with better per-hour pricing. Just tell us your plan when you message us and we'll quote the rate.
Can I do this as a guided tour with someone showing me the spots?
We're working on it. For now, message us when you book — we can usually pair you with a local who knows the area, the coast, and the best stops. The guide is an add-on; we'll quote it when you ask.
What happens if it rains or the weather turns?
We'll reschedule for free if conditions are unsafe — heavy rain, storms, or anything that makes the tracks impassable. If you're already out and the weather changes, head back; we'll sort the timing.
How do I pay?
Cash (USD or MZN), card, bank transfer, or mobile money. We confirm payment terms in your booking message.
