Privacy policy.

We collect the bare minimum to run your tour. We don’t sell it. We don’t spam you. That’s the whole policy — the rest is detail.

What we collect.

When you message us to book or ask a question, we end up with: your name, the WhatsApp number or email you contact us on, and whatever you tell us about the trip (dates, group size, dietary notes, accessibility needs). That’s it.

On the website itself, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs — IP address, browser, pages viewed — for basic security and to see which pages people read. We don’t use third-party advertising trackers or build profiles on visitors.

What we use it for.

One thing: running your tour. That means confirming the booking, sending you the meeting point on the day, telling you if the weather changes plans, and sorting out anything that comes up after. We don’t add you to a marketing list, we don’t send a newsletter, and we don’t message you for any reason unrelated to your booking.

Who we share it with.

Nobody, with two exceptions:

We don’t sell data. We don’t share with advertisers. We don’t pass it to other tour operators.

  • The crew running your specific tour — so they know your name and group size.
  • If a law enforcement or maritime authority in Mozambique formally asks for it as part of an investigation, we’ll comply with the law.

How long we keep it.

As long as we need it to run your booking and for a reasonable period after — for accounting, complaints, or genuine follow-up. If you’d like us to delete your information sooner, just ask.

Your rights.

You can ask us what we hold on you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Message us on WhatsApp or email hello@beyondekaya.com. We’ll handle it within a reasonable time — usually a few days.

The AI chat assistant.

The chat bubble on our site is an AI trip-planner. To answer you, the messages you type are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate a reply — so please don’t type anything sensitive into it. We don’t ask for your name, email, or payment details in the chat, and we don’t use those conversations to advertise to you. We do keep a private record of chat conversations so we can improve the assistant and the answers it gives — this log stores the messages and which page the chat started on, but not your name, email, or IP address, and only our team can read it. When you’re ready to actually book, the chat hands you over to a real person on WhatsApp — that’s where any booking details are shared.

Cookies.

When you first visit, we ask whether you’re OK with cookies. If you say no, we set only the technical cookies that keep the site working — nothing that tracks you. If you say yes, we also use Google Analytics (to see which pages are useful) and, for our ads, Google’s advertising cookies (to measure whether an ad led you here). You can change your mind any time by clearing this site’s cookies in your browser, which brings the banner back.

Children.

We don’t market to children, and we don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you’re booking a family tour, the adult booking is the data we hold — not the kids’.
