Overview
The bay was made for this.
Kitesurfing in Vilanculos is some of the most reliable flat-water riding on the East African coast — a wide, shallow, sandy bay that’s about as forgiving as it gets for learning. Flat water and a soft sandy bottom mean a beginner’s mistakes end in a splash, not a scare.
The wind comes with the southerly trades through Mozambique’s dry season — August to November, 18–25 knots most afternoons — and the launch beach is right in town, walking distance from most lodges, cafés, and the dive shops.
Tell us your dates, your level, and whether you’ll bring your own kit. We’ll set up your lessons or rental gear — and help you sequence kite days alongside the island trips and the rest of your Vilanculos trip.
